The Truth About St. Patrick
Mark 16:15 King James Version (KJV) 15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
When we think of St. Patrick's Day we usually think of things like shamrocks, pots of gold, beer, and possibly snakes. We fill our thoughts with what green outfit to wear so we do not get pinched. Well, unfortunately St. Patrick's Day has been secularized just like Christmas and Easter.
In reality, St. Patrick was a man who was kidnapped from his home land, England, and taken to Ireland as a slave. Once he was free he returned to England only to feel called back to Ireland as a missionary. He felt the pagan Druids needed to hear the Gospel of Christ. For 30 years he served in Ireland's mission field. He was considered a very successful in his ministry. Below is a short video that gives more detail into St. Patrick's life and ministry. Weather you view the video or not the thing to remember about St. Patrick is his missionary work.
An ex slave named Patrick was willing to go into the world and preach the Gospel. Are you? Patrick's world was Ireland. Because of him many were won to Christ. What is your mission field? You're family? You're town? Maybe like Patrick it's another country. Wherever you are sent GO!! That world needs YOU to tell them about the love of Christ! Be a missionary!
