12 For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.

Here we are in a new year. Many people are hoping 2021 will bring a lot of change. A return to normalcy. The problem is they are putting their trust in a date. A date can change but, circumstance and life rarely change over night. So far nothing has changed. The election debate continues, the Covid19 virus is rampant, the divide in our country is still here, lockdowns are still happening. For us to put our hope in a date is setting ourselves up for failure.

Where should our hope be? Who can change our situations? There is only one answer to this question. Jesus. He can bridge the divide, He can resolve the election, and He can destroy a microscopic virus. We must be careful to put our trust in Christ during these trouble times. He delights in taking care of us. That is what He is famous for! Jesus has seen us through 2020 and Jesus and only Jesus will get us through whatever comes our way in 2021. Be like Paul in II Tim. 1:12. Know who you believe in and know that He is able to keep you and all that you trust Him with.
