The Grave is Still Empty

But Peter jumped to his feet and ran to the tomb. He stooped to look in and saw a few grave clothes, that’s all. He walked away puzzled, shaking his head.

Luke 24:12 The Message

Peter had to see for himself that the tomb was empty. It was too incredible to not see it with his own eyes. It was true. The tomb was empty. Jesus had been victorious. In the days and years that followed, not only did Peter walk in Christ’s victory but all who believed in Christ. They walk around performing miracles of all kinds. Exercised the gifts of the spirit. People could see it on their faces.

Good news! The grave is still empty! Jesus is still the victor! We can walk around in the same victory as the apostles and early Christians. Some times we let the circumstances of life cause us to forget The victory we have in Christ. We gripe and complain, feel sorry for ourselves, and walk in defeat. Jesus never returned to that grave. He never was and never will be defeated. There is an empty grave to remind us that we can walk in victory. Does life get hard? Yes. Are there times when things do not go our way? Yes. But, Jesus is always there to show us the way to victory. Let’s celebrate that empty grave. Let’s walk in the spirit. Let’s walk victoriously!
